Khenpo Yeshe will be teaching a short poem by Jigme Lingpa that is very close to his heart, and which precisely and elegantly describes the three core principles essential to the Dzogchen view.

The ground, the path, and fruit.  It is in the form of a prayer, bringing us a direct connection to those core perspectives.

We are delighted to announce that our long-time dharma colleague and friend will visit Dawn Mountain for the first time in person this May to teach us Jigme Lingpa's Ground, Path, and Fruition Prayer.

Well known to the Tibetain Studies world as Khenpo Yeshe, our guest was born in Tibet, grew up under the tutelage of the renowned Nyingma Lama Lungtog Nyima, grew up in the Longchen Nyingthig tradition, and as a young adult, walked over the Himalayan range to Nepal, where he did a three year retreat with the revered Dzogchen master Tulku Ugyen, afterwards travelling to study at Geluk, Sakya and other Tibetan monasteries in India.

Most significant for us is that in about 2003 he met our Adzom Paylo Rinpoche at Ogyen Dorje Den when Rinpoche was teaching there.  He requested and received Semtri from Rinpoche, and they talked. At one point Rinpoche said, "You were my student in the past, and your name is Gyurme Lodro Gyatso."

When preparing to teach Rinpoche's Great Compassionate One, Lama Rigzin needed commentary on it, and when she learned in an adventitious conversation of the name Rinpoche had given Khenpo in California, she knew he must have a special connection with our Rinpoche. He himself had not realized that this name was so nearly Rinpoche's own until he saw the colophon of Rinpoche's text. Both came to understand that they have a special connection through Rinpoche. Lama Rigzin has been able to share all this with Rinpoche and has received his blessing to study with Khenpo privately and also to invite him to Dawn Mountain.

Khenpo, Gyurme Lodro Gyatso has often spoken to us about Jigme Lingpa's, Ground, Path, and Fruition Prayer.  Lama Rigzin asked if he would teach it to us, or if he would recommend something else. He responded, "I will teach this, because I love it!" He will teach in English.

This is a most auspicious occasion. In response to our invitation, he has invited Lama Rigzin and Lama Nyamgal to teach as seems appropriate along with him in the retreat.

This retreat is for everyone who has some background in the Tibetan tradition and who feels a heartfelt connection to Dzogchen and wishes to learn more.

Fee:  $550/$450/$350*
